1. Necessaries:
Necessaries refer to wants for those thing which are very essential for the survival or existence of man.There are three types of necessaries:
Necessaries of Life: Necessaries of life refer to those things which are absolutely necessaries for man's existence or subsistence.
Necessaries of Efficiency: Necessaries of efficient refer to those things which increase the efficiency of a person.
Conventional Necessaries: Conventional necessaries refer to those things which are not really required either for maintaining life or for increasing efficiency but have become necessaries because of social customs or habits.
Comforts: Comforts refer to those things which are not essential for maintaining human life, but are desired for increasing the comfort and happiness of man.
2. Luxuries:
Luxuries are things which satisfy the superfluous wants of a person. Without these things, man can live comfortably and happily. They do not add to man's efficiency they are demanded because they give some pleasure.
Harmful Luxuries: Harmful luxuries refer to those luxuries which harm the body or the mind of the consumers.
Harmless Luxuries: Harmless refer to those luxuries which do not harm the body or the mind of the consumers.
Defence Luxuries: Defence luxuries refer to those luxuries which help a person in times of difficulties. They are owned or held meet certain unexpected future contingencies.
