Moving and Copying Text



The text can be moved or copied from one location in a document to another location in the same document, or from one document to a document, or from a Word document to a different Office application.
1. Moving the Text :
Moving the text is the process of cutting the text from one place and pasting it in the desired location.
For moving the text, do the following.
i. Select the text, which we want to move.
ii. Click on Cut button on the formatting tool bar or choose cut option from the Edit menu or press CTRL+X.
iii. Now the selected text disappears and it immediately places in the clip board.
iv. Place the cursor at desired location i.e., where we want to insert the text.
v. Click on the Paste button in the formatting tool bar or click on the Paste option from the Edit menu or press CTRL+V.
vi. Now, the text will appears at the cursor position.

2. Copying the Text :
Copying the text is the process of making the duplication of the existing text in the document.
For copying the text, do the following.
i. Select the text, which we want to copy.
ii. Click on Copy button on the formatting tool bar or choose Copy option from the Edit menu or press CTRL+C.
iii. Now the selected text disappears and it immediately places in the clip board.
iv. Place the cursor at desired location i.e., where we want to insert the text.
v. Click on the Paste button in the formatting tool bar or click on the Paste option from the Edit menu or press CTRL+V.
vi. Now, the text will appears at the cursor position.
