1. Spelling and Grammar Tool :
We can check the spelling in a document with a menu option. By default, Word automatically checks the spelling and grammar in the document as we type. After finished typing a word a misspelled word, and grammar mistake word can be underlined with a red line or green below the word. The red line indicates a spelling error and the green error line indicates a possible grammar error.
To correct the spelling of the word which is underlined, do the following :
i. On, the Tools Menu choose Spelling and Grammar... option or press F7 key or button in Standard tool bar. Here the computer suggests the appropriate spelling and grammar for the highlighted word. We can correct as per our need.
2. Using the Thesaurus tool :
The Thesaurus tool displays words with the same or a very similar meaning as that of the word at the insertion point.
Suppose we want to know a different words for the word "center" Do the following.
i. Select the word "Center".
ii. On the Tools Menu choose Languages and then choose Thesaurus. or press Shipt+F7 key, the Thesaurus dialog box appears as shown below.
iii. Click the appropriate substitute in the Replace with Synonym list.
iv. Click Replace button.
3. Borders and Shading :
We can add borders and shading to enhance the appearance and readability of the document. We can apply borders and shading by choosing the option Borders and Shading from the Format menu.
To add page borders, do the following.
i. Click Format menu.
ii. Choose Borders and Shading option. The Borders and Shading dialog box opens. Click the Page Border tab.
iii. Select the border style (there are number of styles available) from the Style list box.
iv. Select color from the Color drop down list box (if necessary).
v. Then click OK button, the selected border is appeared in the document.
