Introduction :
An Electronic Spreadsheet or Spreadsheet is a table of rows and columns into which data is entered. Spreadsheet software makes it possible to enter data into a task format, manipulate, store, print, create reports and graphics using them.
All of these task can be done with relative ease compared to working by hand with the same rows and columns of data using one of the following :
i. Lotus 1-2-3
ii. Quadra Pro
iii. Visicale
iv. Star Calc
v. MS-Excel
In this book we are dealing with MS-Excel.

The electronic Spreadsheet generally offers the following features to :
i. Several mathematical, trigonometric, financial and statistical functions are built-in. All complicated calculations can be performed very easily using these functions, facilitating rapid operation.
ii. The results of the calculation can be accurate.
iii. The worksheet can be quite big in size and any part of it can be viewed or edited.
iv. Data can also be viewed in the form of graphs. There are several graphs available and can be printed.
v. The entire worksheet or any part of it can be printed in desired format.
vi. The worksheet is saved and can be retrieved and modified later as and when required.
vii. An existing worksheet or any part of it can be merged with any existing or new worksheet.
viii. The information entered in a worksheet can be sorted in desired format.
ix. With the electronic worksheet program, we can easily and quickly produce reports and get answers to "what-if" questions.
x. The information stored in a worksheet can be transferred to other software programs. Similarly, information stored in other software programs can also be imported to the worksheet.
